Online Tool Helps Consumers Manage Energy Costs PDF Print E-mail

Consumers looking to lower their home energy costs now have access to a free and easy way to beat the rising cost of electricity.  The Indiana Municipal Power Agency, the Town of Ladoga’s wholesale power provider, has launched a free online energy audit designed to help consumers make their homes more energy efficient.           

“We want to provide our customers with more control over their home energy use,” commented Viki Powers, Ladoga Clerk-Treasurer.  “This interactive tool shows consumers exactly how much money they can save if they implement certain conservation measures.”           

By simply clicking on the “energy calculators” button at the IMPA website, consumers have access to valuable, money-saving tips and personal insight into their individual energy consumption.

Clean-Up Days PDF Print E-mail

Saturday and Sunday May 2nd and 3rd the Town of Ladoga and the surrounding Clark Township residents will hold the first bi-annual cleanup days at the Ladoga Town Park. This event will coincide with Tri Kappa's Annual Yard Sale event so that unsold or unwanted items can be disposed of easily. There will be two dumpsters placed in the parking lot south of the baseball diamond for large trash disposal.

Twenty-First Century Scholars ProgramThe Twenty-first Century Scholars Program began in 1990 as Indiana's way of raising the educational aspirations of low- and moderate-income families. The program aims to ensure that all Indiana families can afford a college education for their children.

Income-eligible 6th, 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of undergraduate college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. If the student attends a private institution, the state will award an amount comparable to that of a public institution. If the student attends a participating proprietary school, the state will award a tuition scholarship equal to that of Ivy Tech Community College.

Energy Efficiency Rebate Program Now Open PDF Print E-mail

The Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) is pleased to offer $250,000 in rebates for replacing an existing furnace, boiler, or water heater with an energy efficient unit in existing Indiana residences.  The rebate program begins January 20, 2009 and will run until program funding is exhausted or April 30, 2009 whichever comes first.  Please read all program documents carefully before completing your application.  Many homeowners could be eligible for additional tax incentives.

Ladoga Area Citizens:

The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County and Mark Spelbring, Parke County’s Purdue University Extension Educator facilitated the first meeting for the Ladoga Build a Better Community citizens group last night at Ladoga Elementary School.  We are very excited and proud to announce that approximately 60 people attended this meeting.
